Not a lot in the restoration area...pieces of the Helldiver...one of the docents told me that the painting is finished (at the Paul Garber facility), but it will not be at Udvar-Hazy for a couple more weeks. The Japanese aircraft under plastic beside the Sikorsky is just about finished...can't remember what it is. There is also a German flying wing glider being worked on. I took pictures of the engine that was requested, but it is in a plastic display case and they did not turn out real well. More than 400 pictures taken and I am sure Scott does not want me to put them all up here. Will put up the highlights.

Those photos look great.

The a/c under the plastic is the Nakajima Kikka. They said it's almost done? Wonderful.

Thank you Richard for the identity. The docent that I talked to said it was nearing completion. Sorry about all of the other pictures that I am posting...my aircraft recognition is not what it used to be. If anyone else can identify any of the other aircraft in the pictures...thanks ahead of time.

Awesome photos of an awesome collection that could not have been displayed if not for the generosity of the Udvar-Hazy. My wife and I visited the museum on the 1st anniversary of its opening although that was an accident. Back then there was a huge open space beyond the Concorde. We really need to head back over there, luckily it is only a 3hr trip for us.

Love the photos thanks. We were there in 2003. Alot has been added since then. Hopefully one of these days the wings for the He 219 will be attached to the fuselage again. Does the museum have the wings for the Nick? It seems he place is pretty much filled up. Is there still room for planes like the B-25, the B-26, B-17, etc.?

I've been twice, and if I remember right there is a map on the main floor that shows where the B-17 and a bunch of other stuff will eventually go. I want to say close to the main entrance. And Pat I have been waiting for those wings to go on the 219 for a long time. My cousin got to go to Garber once. He the 219 was sitting there all together(not fully assembled), he said it looked as if you where to put oil and gas in it, and mate the wing and you could take off in it. He was told the restoration shop did very little restoration to it. Mainly exterior paint and conserve everything else.
