Thanks Scott,

If at all possible we should try to do more than archive it. New photos, restorations, wreckoveries will happen over the years and it would be nice to have someone add these as they come in. I appreciate Mark's vote of confidence, but I have an overly active research life (nonaviation) already and retirement for me is still ten years away, but surely there is someone out there who would enjoy being the recipient of new axis-aircraft images and placing them into the site.

If there are any significant expenses in the transfer to a new server let us know. There should be enough people here who will put some money in to support continued access to this page.

It will depend on Mikaels wishes. I will either create a static archive of the site in it's current form or I will integrate it into the site as a separate department, like the Luftwaffe, USAAF, USN and Registry sections. In the later case we will see about working on updates. We'll have to wait and see what develops.

Good news:

11 April 2014
15 Years ago – on the day – http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com was launched!

It is my pleasure to announce that a solution to continue to keep http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com online has been achieved. I’ve agreed to Classic Wing’s proposal to take over this website in order for them to continue to run it and develop it further. I’m very pleased with this solution, especially since Dave McDonald with Classic Wings, was one of the first contributors back in 1999 and have been a close contact throughout these 15 years, sharing information, photos and rumors. So it cannot transfer in to better hands!

Good luck!

/Mike

Mike

Yikes-15 years gone by already!

Pleased to be able to incorporate it into the Classic Wings domain. We will soon have a banner up on our website which will direct visitors to PAA. I will advise when this is in place.

If anyone has contibutions please contact us through the website and I will respond to you directly.

Lastly I would like to thank Mike, on behalf of everyone who has ever found the PAA site useful for whatever reason, for his massive efforts over the years to document what survives of these once proud fighting machines. Hopefully the list will continue to grow in the future as wrecks and relics are discovered and returned to their former glory.

Dave

Great news! One of the best resources on the web, and it couldn't be in better hands.

This should be a salutary warning, though, of one of the disadvantages of the web over the printed page. PAA wouldn't have been the first to have vanished overnight.

There is a problem with the domain transfer from the Swedish end, hopefully that can be
sorted soonish. The content is safe as it has already been downloaded onto our server.
