Sadly, C-FQNF suffered an untimely end while in service with Central Mountain Air:
1943 Douglas C-47B-15-DK (C-FQNF), SN 26643
C-FQNF crashed into the frozen Thutade Lake in British Columbia at 13:40 on April 4, 1991 killing three crew and three passengers. One passenger survived. It was flying a charter for a mining operation and en route from Sturdee Airport (YTC) to Smithers (YYD). The aircraft was operating VFR and encountered sudden heavy snow squalls. The wingtip hit the frozen lake and the plane cartwheeled killing six of the seven people on board and destroying the aircraft.
