Wixer brain trust, I need help. Looking for information on a accident on feb 29, 1944. The flight started out of mac dill and ended up in a field 25 miles to the northeast. I have been talking with a Vietnam vet and he shared with me that his family are looking for info about his uncle who was killed in this accident. All the info they have is from the telegraph notifying the family.

It looks like this accident is included in Anthony Mireles' (TonyM here on WIX) Fatal Army Air Forces Aviation Accidents in the United States, 1941-1945, Vol 2, page 706-707 as 2-29-44A. The report is about half of a page long. Drop me a PM with your email and I'll scan it and send it to you. Or if TonyM sees this and wants to post the report, that's another possibility.

There's a half page description of the accident in "Fatal AAF Aviation Accidents in the USA 1941-1945" in Vol 2 on page 706-707. Details of all on board etc are available.
