Pond, ditch, hole or melted down, the stripping of it for all usable parts for spares is completely plausible and probable. Whatever the true final disposition of the left over unusable remains is pretty irrelevant.
Wade had/has a lot of 4th information that IIRC information and/or copies out of Gentile's logbooks. It's been a while and I may not recall verbatim but the stripping and disposing of unusable remains is spot on from his information.

I thought that was the whole point, that there were some remains believed to be still in situ at Debden for the wreck chasers to go after.

They are Airborne or Jump Wings not paratrooper pins! I wore my US and Canadian Jump Wings proudly on my US Army uniform.

I wore my USN Dolphins on my Army uniform. Along with the "Weird" medals, it was pretty cool. Officers seemed to give me a big pass because of that salad. NCO's, not so much.... :D

Are there any actual reports of this, or just speculation?

I've been hearing the same story about the remains being bulldozed into a pond and left there for well over 30 years now, but I was under the impression that when serious research was carried out this proved not to have been the case.
