Have always admired the F-86, another plane that looks fast sitting still, just sexy. Thanks for the 2 place pics, like many other warbirds it looks different than the standard but at least it was made that way by the factory...

That picture was in the Squadron In Action book in the '70s. Said it was a fiberglass mockup in Europe during some point when we wanted the Russians to think we had more of them than we actually did.

I've also seen photos of Belgian (IIRC) F-84Fs modified with add-on noses and other parts so they looked like sometihng newer and more potent.

The New Hampshire Air Guard F86L is probably taken at Grenier Field in Manchester, NH. The ANG operated the F86L from 1958 to about 1961 or 62 when they transistioned to transports eventually moving to Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH.

Not quite: photo taken on arrival at Dornier RW in Germany circa 21 November 1957 by Peter Sickinger. It's a Luftwaffe machine but was stored with Dornier until moved to Karlsruhe Luftwaffengruppe Sud in January 1962. It was later displayed at Leipheim and Uetersen.

I have to admit I haven't spoken to Peter in a couple of years and he was looking at scaling-back a lot of his projects (Luftwaffe Canberras/US Army in Europe etc). I'll have to give him a bell.

Through Peter, I have a few similar DRW F-86K 'arrival' photos, but none of the storage area.
