Warbird flyover...

Wed Jun 18, 2014 11:49 pm

Just a heads up for this Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Set your DVR to record the NASCAR Toyota Savemart 350 (on TNTHD). The Vultures Row Formation Team will be doing the flyover during the "Start your engines" ceremony. GoPro video to follow...
We are also doing the Sonoma GoPro GrandPrix in August.

I tried a different camera angle for the Sonoma NASCAR flyover we did.

What altitude are you guys using when you do the flyovers at the track? We do the races here in New Hampshire and have been using 1000'. It looks like you guys might be a bit higher than that, but sometimes the lenses on those cameras play tricks with the eyes.

Even though we are in waiverd airspace and have FAST cards and are TSA approved( all those things are required) the FAA will not allow an altitude lower than 1000'. I even asked FSDO to go to DC and asked for 750' and DC said no.
Maybe someday.

FYI the GoPro camera is set to 1080P/30 and 16:9 and yes it really plays tricks with your eyes.
We have more flyovers planned.
