Circa 1944-45 - 41st Bomb Group a group of B-25G and D models on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands…

Look to the far right of the photo and you can see the starboard Vertical Stabilizer of none other than 43-27596 the B-25J-1-NC which is currently on display at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota as 43-27899 as FLO...I'm just saying

Kinda looks like the tail of a B-17 in the far background, right side of pic.

Might be a Douglas... tail just doesn't look quite right though..

Man, that's really somethin' else... a genuine Pacific vet B-25J, marked up in 321st BG/445th BS paint. I hate to lose any 321st representation in the Mitchell community, but that ship really needs to be put back in her original wartime markings!

Great find, thanks for sharing this- has anyone contacted the folks up at that museum to let them know?

More importably it looks like this B-25 was on the civil registry and now is property of the USAFM. How did that happen?

Gerry Beck traded it for a T-28 or 2.
The wings are full of corrosion... Suprised the weight of the snow had not broken them off by now...

Concur on the A-24 ship....I am not really familiar with very many Naval aircraft.

Sorry to bust the bubble but this B-25 is 44-28834 ex Dream Lover that sat at Galveston until Gerry Beck got it and moved it north for display at Grand Forks. As noted a lot of corrosion when Gerry got it. Aircraft never was in combat. A quick history it was accepted July 20, 1944 served the war at Columbia AAF, SC and was eventually stored at Pyote. Recalled in 50s and served at Stewart AFB mostly until retired. Sold surplus 1958.

Ditto: the Grand Forks B-25 on display is an ex USAF TB-25N, 44-28834, that flew as N9865C. Initially an air tanker with the company that later became Aero Union, then later bounced through a variety of owners through the 1960s until it ended up in derelict condition at Galveston in the mid-1970s. Beck's company, Tris-State Aviation, obtained the airiplane in 1985 and it was traded to the USAF Museum Program.
