That's tough for Precious Metal. I hope it can be resolved or at least changed for next year. My question is how did Precious Metal do overall? Did she perform as well as expected? Were there unexpected issues that need resolving? Prognosis for next year?

So we are to believe that Thom flew wider than anyone else all week. OK - clearly RARA would have to throw their guy under the bus to reverse themselves (unlikely) and would be favoring a pilot sponsored by the same watch company that sponsors the Gold Race (awkward).

I suppose if Dennis Sanders had a good view and agrees, and wanted to thumb his nose at RARA, he could send the 3rd place trophy to Thom :-)

Overall, the aircraft performed well. Early in the week we had a problem with a portion of the "Censored" system that we had created. That was resolved in the short term to be able to actually race. A long term goal seems to be available already. The new design radiator worked very well. Pete Law dropped in and checked out his work at a couple of points. It even allowed use of the racing scoop without issue this year. The aircraft was flying great on the way home, until it got stopped for weather in Arizona. The major issue that needs resolving is the loss of the placement money from the race. In many ways, this will be the most difficult issue this young team will have to overcome yet. I'll be suggesting a sponsorship from a GPS company myself. On the other hand, each year the aircraft has moved up two positions at the final race.....so that means next year when it moves up two places.....you get the idea. If anything, the team has a vendetta to take first next year.

Twelve months is so far away! Talk about a race to remember.

I'm looking forward to spending some time looking up photos and video from the event, sounds like it was a dramatic one.
