One of Connie's Hispano's fired up.

Mon Sep 22, 2014 5:26 am

A little bird told me they got one of Connie's Hispano's up and running over the weekend. First time since 1977 I'm told. FYI, that is ALL I know about it!

That is great news Jerry, I hope more information (and pics) will come out of the wood work.

I bet that warm and dry indoor storage was a big help.

Still pissed i didnt win the lottery right when they were listed. What an airshow act 5 "ME-109s" would have made! Just imagine the Crazy Horse is doing its acro routine when AIR RAID hes jumped by half a staffel!

Is it public information who purchased the 109s yet?

Aging Luftwaffe pilots VS the politically incorrect Confederate Air Force, in the skies over Arizona, after they had all ready shot up Williams Air Force Base and the Planes of Fame airshow in Chino, CA.

The Messerschmitt had not actually run since 1973.

Sitting around drinking beer on friday afternoon with Connie while it poured rain at the ranch, Connie bet me $100 that the Messerschmitt could fire up its engine in 6 prop blades. I took the bet and the next morning we aired up the tires, pulled it outside, pre oiled the engine, added fuel, and it fired up in 6 blades.

I lost the bet....

I'll post some video of the engine running once I'm back in the office.
