I knew you'd be on this like white on rice, Mark. :D

I've spent most of the day looking for specific stuff from the 339th, 359th, and 91st, and damned if I didn't find one of my all-time holy grails... a COLOR PIC of 43-37993 "Mah Ideel" showing the colors of her nose art. It's a little distant in the pic, but when you scan that sucker in at 2400 DPI like these good folks have, you can make out the colors in the dress, hair, and background. And then I found a couple more of 993 in flight showing an OD rudder and flak patches... I cannot overstate how freakin' THRILLED I am about those.

I cannot wait to see what other treasures lurk within the site, and you've done a fantastic job finding some of the real goodies so far. :)

Was it unusual for the higher brass to have pinup nose art like that?

Even more unusual, beefcake instead of cheesecake! Was the pilot native Hawaiian?
