No one in FAS Forum would have drawn such a thing. But they are right about it being non-operational during the 1969 war, of course, it was frying under the Texan sun since 1957 (that it belonged to "escadrilla de caza y bombardero, and that the drawing shows it approx 1965, is pure fantasy)
(One of these days you will see the FAS forum drawings, and then you"ll see the difference, but they are still not open to the public, WIP)

Good Day!

Much better! I see you coming in & out of the famous FAS boneyard with bits & pieces of info/data. You may post your own FAS drawings/data when you get a chance. We have time!

I also think the real pic of the FAS 205 is in "stealth version" otherwise you would have posted it by now. Not to say that it does not exist. Some of the best FAS FG-1D pics are still in little cigar boxes & in the attic of the X FAS pilot's homes. You may ask RP about this for now!!

I know is 'pavo' time down S. of the border! But I'll give you another hint. The function of the drawings is just to show not the "square numbers" but the STD NAVY 45 degree stencil markings used in F4U Corsair over the years. That's the way they all came S. of the Border..all the way to the Argentine Navy F4U samples. All other markings were just simply locally made.

I'll invite you to take a look/entertain the FAS 211 R/S profile pic (not drawings) & look at the position of the FAS 211# & then the FAS logo & later we can compare notes on what you see. Some of your FAS Forum local drawings may or may not have captured this detail
.

Man, "Jose", don't get anxious. That you don't know 205 picture, doesn't mean it doesn't exist, don't jump into conclusions. Enjoy Christmas, Holidays, relax, forget about 211 (it was 211, not 201) for a while, forget the drawings.
You must have noticed by now that even the "standard" numbers in FAS Corsairs do not follow appropriately the 45 degree format, did you?

..Ok, but before going into round #3 we have to compare notes about whether or not you see in the pictures that the FAS 211 numbers were painted locally?? ...our colleague RP can prob give you some more inside info/insights on that one.

I'll throw a MilkBone in here, & then " pull my cord", So in every photo of a Corsair in the weeds here, it has the same hole/ cracks on the Right side Windshield Glass, Just saying. Adios Amigos!

Good day!

Even though all these F4Us may look a bit the same, they have certain unique characteristics to each one of them. The 1st thing we look is a the tail Reg numbers.. & then go fm there.

I completely agree with you, Tony, and with Rob, who explained exactly the same thing several posts above, in summary, FAS 211 picture, shows nothing else than FAS 211...
I think that "zorro" will end up arguing about 208 being actually 203, or 219 being in reality 213, and so on, based purely on the number similarity.
But you are right, Tony, the damage in the cockpit, and the tubing in front of the fuselage are the same, and their importance as ID elements can't be overlooked.

Thanks Marco, I couldn't help but notice that, AFTER you & Rob noted other items! I guessed I "pulled my cord" too soon! I'm not EVEN going to go into those "Birds" being...uh how to say to it best..."restored ??" Cord pulled!! :D

This may have made the rounds already in years past. It is a photo gallery of the Salvadorian National Aviation Museum. Alot of old aircraft pics including ones of the thread topic.
