Longshot Scrap Yards With Aircraft Remains - 1983

Fri Feb 06, 2015 7:13 pm

The following lists are of aircraft that were offered through the DOD Surplus Catelog venue. These military aircraft remains are essentually broken up scrap - not being offered as a possible flyer. I thought maybe those WIX members that are looking for a souvenir or are parts collectors may find the lists useable. For full explanation of subject, please refer to same title above, except use - 1970.

Wade Auto Salvage in Atco NJ was featured in a local news paper article several years ago (I think I posted it to WIX). They mentioned that the place still has several aircraft there.

Edit, here it is: http://articles.philly.com/2012-06-04/n ... n-aircraft

Quite a few fuselages and noses can be seen in Google and Bing birds eye views.

On another note it is just amazing that Walter Soplata hauled that B-52 nose home. What a legend!
