Col.

Are you involved with the Clive Cussler group or are they "competitors"?

Cheers

"White Whale" analogy?

Thu Mar 16, 2006 10:56 am

You're all wrong!

Weekly World News just reported finding the Bermuda Triangle Avengers underwater on one of Saturn's moons.

So what do I win!?! :o

And for Mudge...

The "White Bird" of which they speak involves the continued search for the remains of Nungesser & Coli's attempt at beating Lucky Lindy across the Atlantic. My guess is that the investigative crew from Weekly World News will find it first! :P

Thanks Dan, "White Bird" rang a bell somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind, (where I, purposely, rarely go because it's scary) but I just couldn't make the connection to Nungesser & Coli.

I thought Alcock & Brown already did that 8 years previously?

Alcock & Brown non-stop France to US? You must be a revisionist.

I'm hoping it will be me finding the elusive SC1/2.
(Just got my SeaHawk book! Thanks Mike G!)

Or,

Finding and going to the T28 yard in Nevada (Infinately more doable, hopefully sometime this year).

What about the B-32 that's up on the moon ? Hey ! I saw the pictures !

Thu Mar 16, 2006 3:12 pm

RickH, I managed to convince the B-32 owner to sell it to me a few years back. I am still saving up for shipping. NASA is very harsh when it comes to importing stuff from up there...

Sorry Dan, where in the previous post did it mention "non-stop France to US?"

The only record mentioned was attempting to beat Lindbergh's Atlantic crossing. I was merely pointing out the often-overlooked fact that 91 people had actually flown across the Atlantic before Lindbergh.

I didn't mention it in my previous post. I assumed that most who lurk here understood what Nungesser, Coli, Lindbergh, and others were all trying to accomplish in 1927. My bad.

their has been alot of new earhart speculation whithin the last year by respectable research sources with the resources. no tighar b.s. etc. this group has done serious homework, & has the $$$$. they have not done any grandstand p.r. squawking, or horn tooting, on the contrary, they've been mum & responsible up to now.
