For those of you that keep track of these things, this museum has changed its name to the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum http://sasmuseum.com

I just think of it as "The place that has the only B-36 I haven't seen."

Here's one to look at anytime you like :)

Edit - Not meaning to hijack the thread, this is just one of my favorite B-36 pictures. Carry on. :)

Pat, Spectre's photo is the B-36 at the Castle Museum in California- decidedly outside.

The SAC B-36 is indeed now inside.

So for B-36's we have:
Dayton and Nebraska: inside
Pima, Castle: outside (also outside :XC-99 disassembled at Dayton, and remains at Soplata farm)

I do want to get the Nebraska museum, just don't have much of a reason to be in that part of the country...

We were there a few years back when the museum hosted a gathering of the Band of Brothers. A real nice museum it is.

I got to visit there during an "after hours" event a few years ago in conjunction with the IPMS (International Plastic Modelers Society) National Convention, which was being held in Omaha. A really awesome facility..they even let us climb into the cockpit of the B-36. I once got to visit the flight deck of the NMUSAF B-36, but that was some 20 years ago when they still occasionally had "open cockpit" events.
