Of course, such an agreement is not binding on anyone else. When someone gets a shot from somewhere he has a right to be, he can do what he wants with it. I'd be curious whether the parties are using a carrot or a stick to convince folks to pull down their photos. I hope it's a carrot (e.g. a tour of the aircraft if you pull down your pic).

Having been in the publishing business, I get the whole idea of an 'exclusive.' However, in this case, if the airplane does go to OSH or appears any other place in public it will be plastered all over the internet for everyone who has an interest in warbirds to see within hours. Well before a publisher can get to print...

I was told their was an 'embargo' on air to air photos of the new P-36 for some period, but I think we all saw photos of it in the air as soon as it was flying...

Publishers have to adjust to the digital age....which certainly makes it more difficult to make a dime...I am sympathetic to that...

Wow, it would be a great surprise at Oshkosh!! That would mean no single airplane has a lock on Grand Champion with Berlin Express, Sierra Sue II and the Mosquito all attending. Should be very interesting

You are also forgetting about Brad's (Olympia Flight Museum) FG-1D, and also the potential for Chuck to have the SBD finished in time! Pretty awesome year for judging, especially compared to low turnout last year!

Knowing them, it should be great.

Looking forward to seeing it. Unfortunately, I won't be going to OSH this year... Pesky Bar Exam is getting in the way.

From the photos I have seen, the Bush Stearman looks beautiful. Too bad OSH doesn't explicitly add points for the historic nature of particular airframes.

If the A-20 is as good as Aero Trader's prior restorations, and she makes it to OSH, she should easily win Grand Champion... 9 "Bonus" points for difficulty will be hard to beat (Sierra Sue, Berlin Express, and, I assume, Chuck's SBD will only get 5; Brad's FG will get 7). Once again, assuming Aero Trader's normal near-perfection, the Havoc's only real competition might be Yagen's Mosquito, if it comes and if it is judged. I would assume a Mosquito would be around an 8. Don't know if I agree with that difficulty points scheme, but it's the one they use.

Disclaimer: the above is one man's opinion. All the shops responsible for the restorations above are capable of perfection. If all adhere to that inherent capability, the Havoc will win.
