I must have missed any updates. Whatever happened to the Evergreen P-38?

It has been acquired by the Collings Foundation (along with the B-17, P-40, Spitfire, ME-109 and one or two more) and will be returned to flight.

Man I wish we had someone in Utah with the financial where-with-all of the Collings group AND the desire to have a hangar full of warbirds!

I was there a few days ago. Its still there. So far only the AVENGER has left and the Hellcat went back to the Marines.... (corrected below I went by what a docent said while I was there).....

Trimotor has been gone (2?) years, been flying rides at Oshkosh for 2 years now... Owned by a group in Ohio.

The Avenger and Tri-Motor were sold by Evergreen last year sometime. The Hellcat was also acquired by Collings a couple of years ago in a trade with the Marine Corps Museum, and is now under restoration at American Aero.

Yes, I was there on Sunday, and nothing has left the museum so far, in regards to the recent Collings / bankruptcy / for-sale web pages activity.

The Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton OH now owns the Tri-Motor. They've been leasing it to the EAA, which has been touring it around the country along with their own Tin Goose, selling rides.
