Hi Robbie, I took the liberty of pasting-in the article in it's brief entirety in
order to give the project a bit more exposure. Contact info at the bottom. :)

Plan to Refurbish World War II Plane

THUMBS UP: To a group of combat veterans who are taking steps to breathe new life into an old plane.

The members of the Mississippi All Airborne Chapter plan to refurbish the aging, dilapidated World War II transport plane that sits on an abandoned runway at Bobby L. Chain Municipal Airport.

Toward this objective, the chapter is inviting anyone who wants to participate in this project to meet at the terminal at the Chain Airport at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The ultimate goal is to give the historic plane a permanent home at Camp Shelby.

"This is an aircraft a lot of people have jumped out of," said Chad Daniels, the curator of the Camp Shelby Armed Forces Museum. "Because it does not have strong, verifiable history, that's all the more reason to put it here."

For more information about the restoration project, contact Carroll "Bo" Garrett at (601) 852-8171 or (601) 750-4705.
