It's definitely not a drop tank. Purely anecdotal, but I've only seen that fuel cap design on some older AvGas applications (Marchetti SF.260 tip tanks, some older Bonanza tip tanks) and even then they were always behind doors/fairings to protect the cap from being blown open, and they were located mid-tank, not at one end like this one.

I seriously doubt that was designed for aircraft use, at least not externally. I think he's way high on his price. Very very limited audience for that thing.

Is it possible that is an H-21 belly tank? I will see if I can find my pics that may have a good shot of the tanks.
