The CAF's Abilene, Texas squadron has a Morse key that was taken from a bomber (Kate or Val, I don't know ) shot down on December 7th.
Back in 2004 an older guy came to their hangar/museum and presented it to them. he said he was aboard a ship and the bomber crashed next to it.
After the battle, he and his friends went to examine the wreck he took the key.
I was at a meeting and they passed it around, having received it a couple of days before.
It had plenty of Japanese characters on the back of the wooden base and was in very nice shape. The key and wood was undamaged.
Again, I can't vouch for the old sailor's story, but if true, at least the bombers used push key transmitters.
I have no idea how rare the item might be.
It would be interesting to do some research on it with Japanese equipment experts.
