I don't know about the one that is being restored in Minnesota, but somewhat to my surprise Tom Reilly's is apparently still 'about a year away from flying' (cf. a recent post on the EAA forum, http://eaaforums.org/showthread.php?6355-XP-82-Twin-Mustang). That is one aircraft I've been going to Oshkosh for for several years now, so I suppose I'll now have to go back in 2017 as well

As to Kermit Weeks' Boeing 100: in September 2013 it already looked like it might be almost ready, but he's not mentioned it on his Facebook account for quite a while now. It would be nice to see it turn up at Oshkosh as part of the '100 years of Boeing' celebrations they're apparently planning.

Over in Belgium, everyone is hoping that 'Baghdad Fury' (ex-)VH-ISS will be ready to fly in 2016. And if the Sabena Old Timers Lysander or Lodestar ever see the light of day again, this forum will be among the first to know!

Hasn't the P-59 been "close" for many years now? Anyone have some insight on the status? I have a soft spot for her....

What about the P-38, B-17, and P-40 that I think Collings is involved with at Evergreen Aviaiton Museum? Jim H. Can you chime in on this one? There not new Restorations, but they will require some looking at before anything happens. And they will be new in a sense to the warbird scene.

Do you have any inside about the Sabena Old Timers ? Time to time, I try to have information about their progress on the Lysander and the Lodestar but nothing is available on the web.
Any information will be welcome.

I'd say T Reilly's XP-82 still needs some time to buff out some dents and scratches yet ...

Ouch! Looks like that ended its flying career; Baugher indicates Walter Soplata got it not long afterward (or part of it, but what happened to the rest?). Interesting to see the NACA marking and the X added to the buzz number. Will it have those markings when it's finished?

Re the P-59: Isn't the hangup on this one something to do with the engines? Wish I could search the threads but the search feature doesn't work with aircraft designators or serials.

Both engines have been overhauled for some time.

As of a discussion I had with American Aero not too long ago, the B-17 and P-38 are the priorities out of Oregon. Nothing will be done to those machines until the Bombers are released for the 2016 Wings of Freedom Tour in mid January. I really don't have, or have been told a specific timeline for either airplane. Both airplanes have been surveyed. The B-17 needs heavy maintenance to bring it up to tour standards. The P-38 is not a tour machine and not as high on the priority list dictated by available manpower. 2017 would be nice but only time will tell, I'd like to be more helpful but there you have it.

Not sure if Reilly's XP-82 will sport its NACA markings when completed (it may simply be finished as it looked early-on with NAA - factory finish with either yellow or blue spinners), but C&P Aviation's F-82E, which also primarily served with the NACA, will be finished in its original NACA markings.

That is C&P's aircraft, but it will have the later-applied NACA bat markings on the tail fins, just like in the photos you posted of 44-83887.

Note the crumpled-up main gear doors in the photos of 44-83887 - I was fortunate enough to be part of a recent group visit to C&P Aviation, and Pat Harker has been in the process of making new sets of those gear doors, both for his F-82E and Reilly's XP-82.
