This thread is a gleaming & highly polished example of why I like WIX so much that I volunteer to pay a little each month for it. And dang if I'm not thinking about upping my ante now, thanks to Taigh's little rant, and to Mark for stirring him up. And now John Terrell ... well, back to reading...

This is a great discussion -- reminds me to back in a more glorious WIX era 10 years ago. Well done, Taigh.

Mark, I love ya man, thank you for stirring this pot! Taigh, you are a treasure, a true credit to WIX and I'd place you right alongside our beloved late Gary Austin for the depth of your knowledge and genuine enthusiasm to share that knowledge with all your "virtual" friends here. Although it's not widely acknowledged, probably because of the cost differential in the final products, there is a very strong parallel with the research and attention to detail shown by the finest restoration facilities and the finest scale modelers in the world. I've long argued that we in the scale modeling world can be the best allies a restoration group could have, because we absolutely LIVE for that sort of minutiae and will gladly discuss gunsight installations or primer colors or max flap extension settings or what have you for hours on end. And we love hearing about the sort of details uncovered by the Aircorps Aviation team- that sort of thing helps us build better and more accurate scale representations of these aircraft we love so much. Speaking of which, John, you sure know your stuff on Mustangs... dang, son!

What a joy it is to read through this thread. This one might need to be a sticky. :)

Cheers all!

Lynn

I rarely have a pot to p*ss in yet alone a pot to stir. 8) , all I can add other than nothing really, is ... well nothing really but a few photos. Just comparisons, no bashings ...
