The cats out of the bag I guess, but Im going to spend the next 2 years thinking about it and then do something about it  . But I am working towards starting work on reproducing a full size flyable F2A-3 Buffalo to honor the men of VMF-221 at Midway, Im obtaining blueprint copies and such things required to start the project. I've always been a fan of the Buffalo and the brave men of VMF-221. I can't think of another airplane as important.

I should have this all done in 60 years.

Nathan

It's April 1 here in NZ, so should I be applauding you for taking on this project or applauding you for making it "believable"? :?

I truly hope it's the former - this would be fantastic!

Still waiting for you to find him a center section.

Work on turret should begin this June.

Nathan,

Lest I be accused of increased digression, I wonder if you'd stumbled across this WIX thread from 10 years ago.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6553

Having reread some of it led me to wonder if you've been in touch with the folks at Cradle of Aviation Museum: The ones who built the last static Buffalo replicas with which I'm familiar.

I have tons of stuff on the Brewster Buffalo and some factory drawings too. I did a 1/3 scale model of the Brewster 339 British export which is my favorite version. Let me know if I can be of help to you

Hi Nathan....I'll be glad to help, but don't use the Matt drawings as a basis, there are many problems with them. All the best, Jim Maas

Have you checked with the NMNA in Pensacola? They may have some very helpful documentation.
