There must certainly be some Spitfires returning to the air this year.

How close to flight/taxiing is the POF P-59 now?

Looking like three more Sabres should be flying this year. Hopefully only a matter of weeks for this one.

Congrats Kevin, I think I must have missed that if it was posted to Facebook!

Also, there should be a certain C-47B with it's very own first ever freshly printed Airworthiness Certificate in the next few months!

Yes, looking forward to seeing some of those in the air this season.

I'll be kicking it off in a couple of weeks down in Pungo, VA at the "Warbirds Over the Beach" show. Looking forward to seeing their Bf-109G-4 in flight.

The Bf-109G is not listed on the WOB flight schedule. Is it not ready or will it be a surprise addition?

And don't forget that PoF's Zero is going back together after a rebuild!

Hey, yes it is suppose to be flying. After seeing the image of the 109 in flight on their WOB web page, I posted the question to them on their FB page and this is the response I got back:

"Hi Andrew, great question! The Bf-109 will be making it's U.S. debut flight at the Air Show this year. We are very excited about it!"

So, with that I gotta believe it is ready to go.

Following the XP-82 project through the blog/newsletter, I'm a bit surprised by a possible first flight this year : they are making great progress but it looks to need a lot of "final touch" before a return to the air. (You know the few remaining percents of things to do who takes lot of time)

Just my 0.2 cents.

How far away are we from seeing the P-61 Black Widow in the air?

I think we are still a few years away. They are just now working on the wings, although I'm not sure how far into the process they are.

Many of us crave seeing that behemoth at Oshkosh. Maintaining and operating a complex beast of that magnitude is no trivial matter. Cheers on the fresh airworthiness certificate!

Nice! Would love to get a look at that...would really love to have a go at the flight engineer panel!
