Definitely hit the Air Zoo if you have the opportunity.

It's all there. Two "campuses." The main building will have all the WWII aircraft, some of the jets, rides, etc. The "East Campus" has the Trimotor, more Cold War jets (F-11, Cougar, F-86, MiG-15, P-80) and you'll be able to see the Wildcat project.

Also, Grumman subcontracted Albatross (SA-16/UF, HU-16) fuselage to Plymouth, IIRC, in Evansville. Is that factory still around?

Until a very few years ago the former Republic plant was used by Whirlpool to build refrigerators. It is currently a multi use facility with a steel company a plastics company as well as warehouse space.

The Plymouth plant is currently used primarily by Escalade Sports. They produce billiard tables and the like.

Only warbirds around seem to be a Texan or two.

There is a current effort to build a military museum centered around the P-47, but it's uncertain at this point.

The museum in Vincennes should be on your list.

Well, we drove thru Kalamazoo but we didn't have time for the Zoo, so next time. But when we landed in Benton Harbor, there was a really nice T-6 in the pattern doing some T&G's. It turned out to be the new owner of David Price's old Mustang which was in its hangar getting some TLC. The owner was doing really good with the strong x-winds he was given. I understood there was going to be a WWII event in a few weeks there and the Mustang should be up and running. They mentioned that they didn't have enough Mustang drivers, so maybe Vlado can help them out...

The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes is a must see! I was just there a few months ago dropping off parts and luckily I was given a tour of the "warehouse" where vehicles of every type are stored/restored. They recently acquired a Higgins boat and have started the extensive restoration on it.
Jim and the staff are very friendly and gracious hosts!
