Australian Mustang project fundraising success

Tue Jun 14, 2016 12:47 pm

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to thank the WIXers who helped on the project to acquire the Australian CAC built Mustang for our Museum. Fundraising has been completed and we successfully raised the $250K required via donations, sales and a year of hard work by a great bunch of volunteers.

Thank you everyone, it is a massive acquisition for us as it completes the CAC (Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation) collection, at a time when we have just completed the GAF collection (Government Aircraft Factories) collection with the donation of a GAF Canberra which arrives this weekend.

The Mustang will arrive in a few weeks and then we will get on with the job of putting it together and on display, even if just as a shell, in time for the CAC 80th anniversary in October (and the Mustang Car Club Annual Show which is the week after that)

Regardss

Well done.
I'm just looking at whether I can swing a day off next to a work day trip to Melbourne on 29th June, in which case you are high on the list for another visit.
