I found this, at a friend's hangar.

The only quick reference I could find, was from the Imperial War Museum, but I could not find more specific information regarding the type of aircraft that used it.

Any ideas?

I think it was mostly used on patrol bombers that had radar operators. It was used in conjunction with the IFF and radar to give more accurate position information of IFF equipped aircraft and ships/subs.

We have one in the Harpoon but are looking for the amplifier and adapter to go with it. So if you see any black boxes or other components with APA-1 on the tag please keep us in mind.
