Warbird Registry has this one as 44-74774

MustangsMustangs has it as 44-74474

I think Scott got bit by "Rascal"s actual wartime serial of 44-74774 displayed at one time on '474's rudder, MustangsMustangs is the correct one.

Keep in mind that the FAA have used the wrong serial since the plane was first registered. This would very likely have been a slip- up by Aero Enterprises in the early 60s.

That has happened more than a few times in the past. When Red Bull was interested in White Lightning, she had 2 serials in her history...a deal killer for RB. An old FAA mossback researched the issue and found and fixed the error. That was his explanation anywho...

If this is the same one, this aircraft was owned by Al Loftgren in Battle Creek Michigan in the mid 70's. It was sold to Bob Byrne(sp) in Detroit area, and then to Jack Rousch and then sold to a person whose name escapes me but crashed killing the owner. The status of the aircraft remains are unknown to me at this time. :spit

Jack Roush sold it to his friend Jim Hagedorn who still owns it today (not crashed).

Here it is last summer with Roush's Gentleman Jim at Oshkosh.

I can assure you that N6341T now N451MG is alive and well. I was just working on it yesterday.

Lofgren also owned the paperwork for 44-73254 N6328T which had crashed in Crumstown, IN in 1963. This was rebuilt using another airframe (possibly a discarded Aero Enterprises plane), although I don't know if Lofgren did the work, or if Webber did it.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Lofgren is still alive? Or if his first name is Alfred?
