U.S. appearances notwithstanding....Duxford ain't that far from them.

Mudge the hopeful.

I thought this was flying dirty:

Actually, I believe the poster meant "flown gear down".

I'm not impressed. I will be impressed when they fly off the restrictions, finish the flight testing, make all the adjustments and take the product to the public and do some marketing. Marketing includes an appearance at Oshkosh, SunN'Fun, Duxford, the Paris Air SHow, Dayton, and three or four other major shows on the West Coast and East Coast of the U.S.
Until I can touch one at an aviation event, smell it burn JEt A, hear it's engines scream in flight as it makes a blistering fast pass down the runway for photographer's and maybe some aileron rolls and max performance climbs, yeh , then I will be impressed.
Same goes for the Oscars and FW-190's. Don't bore me with with promises and gear down Kool-Aid photos !!!

Including the one with the wing close to mating to the fuselage, there are three more for sale. I have some not-so-good pictures from a few weeks ago at...

Who knows? White 1 is still in the U.S, and I have heard nothing to indicate it is going elsewhere. There has been nothing said that it won't tour this summer. I am praying to the warbird gods this it tour, and to a show I am attending!

From what has been posted on the Stormbirds site,White 1 is destined for an owner in Arizona once the full test program is over(they were using it to test out the full flight envelope of the 262).

I was there talking to them a few weeks ago. White 1 has been ready and waiting for the owner to pick it up for a while now. In the mean time they decided to do the annual, and they were in the middle of that when I was there.

As an Arizonan my only question is what's the hold up?! :D

Quite seriously I was told it is tax season and the owner is busy with other business right now.

After seeing it fly...and seeing blow by us like we were standing still in the B-24...the 262 is alive and well. The guys at Stormbirds are offering the other machines as static or airworthy, it would be a crime to turn the remaining airframes into dust collectors. I can't wait to see an FW flying off our wing, that day is coming soon.

It means to fly with the landing gear and flaps down during the test flight.
