(I know different versions of this have been done before but I thought I would run another round.)

You know you are a Warbird nut...

...when you have more photos of airplanes than your family in your photo collection.

...when you have books, magazines and airshow trips as line items in your home budget spreadsheet.

...when you have pieces off of old airplanes you have worked on as display pieces on your shelves at home.

...when you have a box full of old tshirts that you plan to keep because THEY ALL have oil on them from different Warbirds.

...when you call your friends while standing next to a running Warbird at an airshow just to rub it in that you are there and they arent.

...when you have memorized the N#s and owners of certain types of Warbirds.

...when you check this forum at least 5 times a day or more... FROM WORK.

(I can think of a few more but I will see what gets posted...)

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

Not only do you know just how many survivors of a specific rare type exist...and where they are located...but you also have journeyed w-a-y out of you way to actually see AND photograph all of them...and don't consider this behaviour particularly unusual.

And, when another of that type is discovered & recovered from a crash site, you start making plans to go see that one as well, as soon as possible...and don't consider That particular desire to be unusual, either.

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

No matter where you travel for business, including to foreign countries, you do all the research you can to find out if there are any Warbirds you can see there and rearrange your schedule accordingly if you are able to...and a very disappointed if there are no Warbirds to be seen on that trip.

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

After answering a relatively benign question from a friend (or even someone you have just met) about ex-military aircraft (a.k.a. Wabirds), you follow-up with a multi-page letter or e-mail to the person, that may or may not include photos and/or directions to a particular Warbird museum or event.

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

You have w-a-y too many picutres of you and your father/brother/etc. standing in front of a rare type, all carefully staged not to obscure too much of the Warbird seen behind you.

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

Among the topics not openly discussed with your significant other are the number of Warbird related books or photo albums (or add your specific collection here) you own.

You know you are a Warbird nut when...

On the rare occasion when you actually take a vacation that has Nothing to do with Warbirds, you have to promise your significant other that the only aircraft you will stop and look at are the buses with wings you both will fly on to get from here to there & back.

I think you just described me! Hmmmm....

I envision myself sitting in a circle of people saying... "Hi. My name is Mike and I have a problem."

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

You forgot to mention, when a "round motor" flies close by you immediately stop your conversation and start scanning the sky for it.

It's only a problem for other people, I'm a recreational user and I'm not addicted.
