Regards,

Since it flew in Germany, it's not very likely they'll be adding a swastika anytime soon.

(Not sure if you know but it's against the law to display a swastika in Germany. They're very strict about when and how it's displayed.)

Swastika is legal on museum aircraft in Germany and many are displayed with it. Not those that fly though.

did not know that. I was under the impression that it was a blanket ban.

Check out some of these shots. Looks like the 262 makes its first airshow appearance in Germany! Gear up and everything

Great shots. The ones of the 109 are stunning. Most have been great to see the 262 fly.

Very nice, A26invader! The Bf shots are Awsome! Thanks!

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Yes, it was truly great to see both the 109 and 262 perform. Watching a 262 in the air was somehow surreal... I can't imagine what it would have been like in 1942...

Great shots buddy, the 109 sure looks energetic in there!!

What's up with the 4 bladed Yak? Is it a P-51 propeller? It sure looks odd...

Very impressive!! Now that's what is going to sell the remaining 262's. Outstanding job a26invader, free bier when you come to the states, on me! Both aircraft look just perfect .

Tue May 23, 2006 10:26 am

I agree. Very impressive!

In the second video I noticed the 262 pilot kept the nose high on the landing roll out. Is that to help reduce speed?

I believe that the '262 had a weak nose gear design. Keeping the weight off would be a good thing, as well as aiding in aerodynamic breaking.

My understanding is that this issue was addressed by identifying the faulty components and engineering better ones for the replicas. Maybe he just came in nose high. The aircraft has only been in counrty a matter of months. I imagine 262 time for the pilot(s) is still relatively low. Anyone know who is flying it anyways. The was a german pilot who was flying it out in Washington but I believe he lives here in the US.
