I joined the CAF.

Thu May 04, 2006 9:08 pm

After many years of swearing I'd never do it, I finally joined the CAF. I'll be the first to admit that I've had problems with a lot of the things they've done over the years. But, I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't bitch if you don't vote. So I'm voting with my money. I'm also gonna join the B-29 squadron and attempt to help get FiFi back in the air.

After watching the work that Gary and his crew at Midland have put into the B-29, it just kills me to see them hit with the bad cards they have been dealt. I've known Gary for a while and consider him my good friend. I've never seen a person so dedicated to something. I hope the CAF, members and leadership alike takes notice of his dedication. I also hope they notice that they have one more member because of him.

I've been fortunate to be of a little help to the B-29 crew at Midland and on the road in the past. Hopefully I can become more involved in the future.

Gary, I'll be out in June to help for a few days. Given what little time the Air Force lets me loose, it's the best I can do at the moment!

Welcome to the CAF

Although I have had my own airplanes to fly for the last 6 years, I joined the CAF about 5 years ago and I think the positives far outweigh any negatives. Gary has done more than most will ever know. I'm sure your help will be valuable and most welcome.

Hi Brad,

I too finally joined both the CAF and the local Golden Gate Chapter last year. Just a week ago I renewed for another year. While I have kept extremely busy with my air show stuff, I hope to make a few of their meetings this summer.............

Do I have to salute you now, dude?

Bravo Zulu to you, Brad. I, too, have a soft spot in my heart for FiFi and am as sad to hear of her recent troubles as much as I am eager to see her fly again.

Joined up!

Wow, Brad! I've lost money on the bet that you'd ever join. ;-)

Thanks for the support though and I can assure you that I'll put you to work when you get here.

Just don't let him check the oil. He's not good at that!
and if there's a TBM around for god's sake don't let him start it!!

systemofadown PM me your name and address and I will put up your cadet money. Can't be for much longer as you can soon be a regular member.
We just can't let an enthusiastic prospect get away because of a little thing like money.
And no I am not some kind of pervert, I just love old planes like you do, and did when I was your age.

Good for you Brad! An organization is only as good as its members, and you probably have the enthusiasm of 10 men.
