Hurricane Michael and Static Birds

Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:21 pm

The F-15 on display at Tyndall AFB, just inside the main gate has significant damage. She is currently on her back not far from her pedestal. The F-15 at Veterans Park in Callaway has also suffered extensive damage, she's off her pedestal and also on her back. I believe the F-4 at Tyndall AFB was also damaged but she is still on her pedestal. The two other aircraft are on their pedestals, dont know the extent of their damage.

Yesterday I heard what sounded like a scene out of Apocalypse Now, walked outside to see 3 CV-22 Ospreys and 2 Blackhawks flying over my house. It was President Trump surveying the damage from Hurricane Michael. We were ground zero for the storm and had our backsides handed to us on a silver platter.

So I hope that Eglin's museum didn't get hit too hard?

Eglin AFB and Pensacola NAS are pretty much unscathed. I can only assume Hurlburt Field is pretty much unscathed also.
