Does anone out there know about a B-17 in Peoria? For some reason this sounds familier but I can't put my finger on it - any help out there?

Thanks!

All Google brought up was numerous mentions of Peroria being a tour stop for the EAA's 'Aluminum Overcast'

Is that the former XC-108, now B-17E "Desert Rat"? I seem to remember it was in that rough area of the country, but my memory may be faulty.

Cheers,
Richard

I'm pretty sure that is the B-17 in one of the past Warbird Digest magazines.

Located in Marengo, Illinois, about a 3 hour drive from Peoria.

Much has changes since the "Warbird Digest" article, mostly
in organizing the parts, and preparations for hanging the nose back
on the fuselage. Bulkhead 3 extrusions are only 3 weeks away!
