Wow you do have some great photos Mark. The comment about re-using the packing crates reminds me that after the RNZAF unpacked their BAC 167 Strikemasters in 1972 the packing crates got used as material to build offices in the hangar!

Anyone have a shot of the CG-4 crate itself? Might come in handy for spotting one in the field.

Stoney, the first two shots are Harvard Mk IIs at NAA Inglewood, but the ones of the fabric covered job show the NA-33 pattern ship for Australia, which became the Wirraway.

When I worked at Kaman Helicopters in the 1990s they had at least one engineer whose only job was to design boxes for shipping components.

When I was 10 my father brought home a shipping crate for an Allison Turboprop and made it into my fort/clubhouse :)
