Update. The AF Museum in Dayton is working on a significant refresh of their SEA SAR gallery and plans to have a ribbon cutting in Spring 2023. There will be another replica Madden Kit on display to help share this story with a wider audience.

Probably one of the driving forces as to why we, Aircrew Life Support/Aircrew Flight Equipment, pack a spare battery with every radio now. A single battery lasts for about 8 hours of continuous use. It probably came about then, as when I came in, in 86, it was already a requirement.
