I recognized that registration immediately - 49-2897, the first T-6G conversion built, formerly owned by Doug Goss. My first and only ride in a warbird was flying with Doug to Oshkosh back in 1981.
My condolences to the family.

No, that was a different one, but 897 was based at the Victory Air Museum at the time.
