Unfortunately Stearman N707TJ which has been in the UK for many years performing wing walking displays with AeroSuperBatics, ditched just offshore following a display at Bournemouth yesterday. Pilot and wing walker (who had returned to the front cockpit) are both ok, minor injuries only apparently. Hope the Stearman is out of the oggin now but there will be lot of work to be done to get her flying again.

Surprised the entire airshow was cancelled since the incident location seems to be far from the site of the display.

Reading the title of the post I thought that "dunking" was the name of a town in the UK! ;-)

I was surprised too but the show did go on on Sunday. A rather soggy Stearman is now ashore - no reason why she won't reappear at some stage in the future though she'll need at least two new wings and tail feathers amongst other things I think. Been an unfortunate few weeks for US registered Stearmans in the UK, another landed astride a lovely Cessna 182B which is a rarer sight in UK skies! That Stearman appeared to have got off quite lightly, the 182 is in rather a bad way but the owner wants to rebuild her.

(Dunking sounds like a place where we British would commit regicide - Charles I was executed at in a courtyard at the Houses of Parliament I believe)
