Just thought I would share some recent photos of (Proper :wink:

) British designs used by American forces here at the NMUSAF. Sorry bout the pic sizes still working on it.

One of my favorites, and a paint scheme that I don't ever recall seeing on a restored aircraft, would be the OD and grey, DH-82 Tigermoth in USAAF service. If I had a Moth, which is my favorite bi-plane, I'd have it done in US markings.
I know it would be a sacrilage to many of our friends in the UK, but it would save me from having to find an RAF WWII uniform set for a six foot, four inch frame!

Not a sacrilage at all, sounds like a great scheme for a Tiger....

No different to me wishing to see a brave B-17 owner painting a B-17G in standard RAF Bomber Command black with earth/dark green upper surfaces......or RAF Coastal Command white etc.....

Oh and What Price Glory in California does excellent repro WW2 RAF uniforms in 'non-wartime' sizes....... :wink:

Ah yes the Mossie, i have a great picture of me ( rather embarrasingly in school unform circa 1976!) in front of her after my dad had landed at Blackbushe in England after a ferry trip from the States. I will never forget how they "beat up" the field upon arrival, the hair on my neck still stands up. Went back to Dayton a few years ago for a "remake" of that shot, but wasnt allowed quite as close javascript:emoticon(':cry:') as before.

Nope no B-17s like you describe. ANd I don't think you're likely to see one dressed like that until some British organization procures one.

If you can get this months current copy of Flypast mag, there is an article with photos of RAF B-17's in the this scheme and a colour side plate drawing.

7th Photo Recon Group attached to the 8th USAAF, based at Mount Farm UK, using PR Spits and F-5 Lightnings, and also P-51D's as escort fighters.
