Doug Matthews' F-86 "Beauteous Butch" may be a possibility for 2022 as well. It has been undergoing engine tests and taxied for the first time recently.

Spitfire IX PL344 at HARS NSW

PL344 arrived sometime in the past couple of months and has taken up residence at HARS for reassembly, any remedial work, and preparation for its issue of an Australian CoA and its first flight in Australia. It has been given the Australian registration VH-IUK and has conducted some preliminary engine tests in recent weeks. It is scheduled to conduct a number of further engine run up and tests this coming weekend during the planned HARS Tarmac Days as it moves closer to its first flight in Australia.

The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association's Harvard Mk 4 20304 (C-FBZT) will be taking to the skies again in the spring of 2022 following a 12 year restoration by our volunteers.

She hasn't flown since November 1963. We had her fully assembled for a dedication ceremony last fall, but Covid delays and other issues have pushed the first flight to next year.

Spitfire Mk.IX MH603 had its first post-restoration test flight today, performed by Steve Death, from Scone, N.S.W., Australia (Saturday December 11, 2021), followed by a couple more flights soon after. With so many Mk.IX generation Spitfire projects being built up as two-seaters as of late, it's wonderful to see another stock, single-seat Mk.IX flying in the world! The RAAF Museum's P-40E A29-90 (41-25123), under restoration at Precision Airmotive at Wangaratta in Victoria, Australia, is also very close to making its first post-restoration flight. This will soon be followed by the first flight of Ross Pay's TP-40N NZ3184 (42-105875), which is also nearing completion at Precision. As shared on the MeierMotors Instagram account, they have had a second Bf 109E project underway (in addition to the Spanish Civil War example, nearing completion). This one, a Bf 109E-3, WkNr.2372, is owned by Hangar 10. The wreckage which formed the basis of the project used to be displayed at the museum some years ago.

Additionally, Spitfire T.9 ML295 (originally a stock single-seat Mk.IX), very near completion at Biggin Hill in the UK, just might fly before the end of the year. This one is somewhat unique among the restored/converted T.9 Spitfires flying today, as it is fitted with stock Mk.IX wing armament/cannons.

The re-restoration and "TP" conversion of P-40N 42-105120 is very close to completion at American Aero Services, and it will no doubt be flying very soon in the new year.

Kermit Weeks has both a Boeing 100 and the all-red Boeing 100A (originally built for Howard Hughes) nearing completion, both of which are expected to fly in the new year. (Photos posted on the "Øyvind's P-12" Facebook page)

So NZ3184 isn't being restored as a TP-40N? For some reason they were one and the same.

MH367 would disagree (as far as cannon are concerned, anyway):

Thank you, Zac. Yeah I had my wires crossed a bit with the P-40 projects - now fixed. Thank you too about pointing out MH367 - I also forgot that the T.9 PT462 has the cannon fairings as well (and TE308 of course used to).

I saw a Zero fly at Chino yesterday. I suspect it was the Fagan example.
