As many of you know I have had health issues in the past (cancer at 30, diabetes, blood clots, all sorts of fun). Well in the last couple of years I have been dealing with an unidentified issue that had made life somewhat difficult. Well boys and girls, we finally have a diagnoses. Drum roll please... Parkinson's Disease! :supz:
For the last year tremors have made tying difficult and frustrating and have slowed my ability to manage the site. This has led to numerous delays in the updating and expansion of the site as well as keeping up with e-mails and other communication.
In addition I have spinal issues, the result of spending most of my life at nearly 400 lbs. (down to 235 for the last few years) that have wrecked my discs and making long sessions sitting at a computer for long difficult.
Third bit of negative news (hold on, there is good news coming). I've been out of work for 8 months and it's been rough but I'm hanging in there.
Last bit of darkness, I'm losing by home. I rent and the owner died and now his kids need to sell the house. So out I go...

And now the good news... (finally, am I right?)
#1 - Parkinson sucks, however, having been diagnosed I am beginning medication that has reduced the tremors by 90% and I've started Physical therapy to help stave off this affliction, :supz:
#2 - Spinal cord/back issue. Meds and PT have helped out a lot. Work in progress but I keeping my chin up (literally, its part of the physical therapy :D )
#3 - I have completed my first week at the new job and it seems to be working out. Hello money! I've missed you.
#4 - I have a place to live! I'll be moving next weekend and everything should be hunky dory.

The reason I am telling you all this is that I am not ignoring the site or blowing people off. I've just had some trying times but I've passed through the storm and I'm coming out the other side!
I have plans for 2026, some of which are:

- Bringing WIX through and incremental update now that we are on a new server.
- Bring more registries up to date.
- Expand Forgotten Aviation
- Figure out that #$@%$#% 504 Gateway error
- Enable WIX subscribers to have a mostly ad free WIX forums
- Update the Luftwaffe Resource Center
- Revamp the PX with new designs
- Other updates as time and energy permit.

Thank your for your continued support and friendship, it is greatly appreciated!

Geed deal Scott. I knew you were having several issues for a while, and that's why I've only poked at you for login problems. Glad to see you on the mend, both physically and financially.

Best wishes for the future Scott; this all makes our whingeing about slow websites seem a tad irrelevant and disrespectful.

I hope 2026 brings you nothing but good news.

I've had thoughts about your health issues and am sorry to hear that they have been added to. Good to hear, though, that you're on the mend!

Hi Scott,

Friend of mine was recently diagnosed with Parky and I've seen just how challenging it can be (notably when carrying two pints from the bar to the table - his concentration at such moments is monumental!), so it's particularly good to hear that your treatment is proving effective and I hope that it will continue to do so; and that the considerable effort that is going into finding tailored gene therapies for so many of the diseases that afflict mankind will find better ways to manage such things as soon as possible - and perhaps even a cure.

Best of luck to you in new job, new home and with everything else going forward!

Hooligan

Hi Scott,

I liked the good news a lot better than the bad.
I think a trip to the N.E.A.M. on Friday is in order... :)

Good luck,
Phil

Good to hear all of the good news Scott! Your hard work is appreciated by many, even though we don't always say so and moan a lot about the things that don't work as they should 8)

I wish you a way better 2026! (I know... a bit early but let's just close off a lousy year early  )
