The Yankee Air Museum's "Thunder Over Michigan" 2006 Aircraft Line-Up was updated on July 31st.

Nine additions and nine deletions...and I think the additions outweight the deletions, too. Not bad for the last week leading up to the event!

I'm sorry to see the Spitfire and Hurricane (and Skyraider) turnout will be a little less than planned, but the overall lineup for the show has something for everyone. A very well rounded show, indeed.

And the weather forecast is looking fine too (so far). Mid 80s, sunshine, with maybe a few clouds here and there (hopefully some nice puffy popcorn clouds)

I'm looking forward to the show a lot! Stuff dropping out is part of the game, as sad as that is that is life. There is more than enough to cover the losses in one way or another. Maybe even fit a few static's into the flying show. The crowd would always love to see a B-17 or 2 with some close fighter escorts.

No, I don't have an ID for the Chuck Marshall T-6 that was added. I was hoping someone here would. I am quite sure that Kevin and crew are very busy at the moment and I don't want to bother them with something so trivial. I will be out at Willow Run starting on Thursday. Looking forward to seeing you and the other WIXers over the weekend!

Trading a Spit for a Goose, a Hurricane for a T-6, a Mustang for "Auntie Ju"?
Don't get me wrong. I know it's not something the organizers can control, but and even trade?

I have got to agree with Mudge on this one. This latest round of additions/subtractions is not even close. The losses far outweigh the gains. Having said that however, I would drive to the airport just to see the aircraft added as they are outstanding on their own. Really looking forward to this weekend. Great aircraft list, weather is looking good ( if just a tad warm), and who knows what last minute surprises may happen. :wink:

Does anybody know what it takes to put on a show of this magnitude?!!!

They're pulling in aircraft from all over, some that weren't even ready to fly when they booked them. Dollars, mechanical problems, weather etc. can always ruin the best laid plans. When we did the "Corsairs Over Connecticut" show last year, we had nine Corsairs booked, but by show time, it was only five that could make it!

Were we dissappointed...YES!

Was the event any less of a success...NO!

Anytime you can get that many British aircraft together in North America it's a big deal! I'm sure they're working their butts off trying to make this show go! (And they've been doing a great job for a few years now!)

It sounds like a great show and I wish I could go!
I'll just have to stay home and be amoung the un-cool!
Blue skies and have a great time in Michigan!!!
