Don't know if you've seen this video before?

http://www.ssdapps.org/photo/gallery/d/2967-1/B17.wmv

It's a bunch of skydivers, who use the bomb-bay as their exit... I'm not into skydiving, but it would be cool to try 8)

Nice video of the B-17.

I think I would only jump out of a B-17 in an emergency, lol.

I could skydive out of a regular jump ship anytime. (I havent...but its on the list!)

Looks like a great time for the skydivers! We talked seriously about taking FIFI to the National event for skydivers (waaaay back when it was flying) and letting them jump out of it, but the CAF insurance doesn't allow that sort of thing to happen in our airplanes anymore. But wouldn't it be cool to see 20,000 pounds of skydivers being dropped from a B-29?

WEll,

I gotta admit this isn't something you get to see everyday. It's kind of a "Bomb's Eye View" going out through the bombay doors like they did. It was a pretty good video nonetheless,

Thanks for posting,

Paul

Actually, I know of at least two CAF aircraft to drop parachutists. One is our C-60, the other is Great Lakes Wing C-47. I was actually going to try and get our aircraft into that place but of course we had the landing incident so that is out of the question. But we do have the bomb shackles out on the wing of the Tracker.......hmmmm :?

Back in 2000 and/ or 2001 Collings offered skydiving out of the B-24. There are pictures of this online, I'll see if I can find the photos. They also jumped out of the bomb bay. 8)
