I hate to say it but the teenager flipping the burgers looked like he had an I.Q. of about 2 points above plant life. I'm sure the multiple earings in his lip and nose were seriously affecting his ability to judge cooking time & temperatures. :vom:

Well, since you guys hijacked this post already...

OSH food tip #1: Next time you buy lunch at OSH, go to the little stand on the edge of the Blue lot just outside the main gates. Each year a local church group operates it, and prices are about half of what you pay inside. One woman even refilled my lemonade once when I told her how good it was!

OSH food tip #2: Hit the WIX party--Jenn's spread was tops for the week. She even made deviled eggs...what a woman!

Don, next year at OSH you & Sky should look me up. I volunteer over at Warbirds starting Saturday morning. I will take you shopping and we can probably work in a meal off-site one evening.

We're hoping that my friend Glenn gets to fly the Museum's Dh-4 up next year. The airplane should be flying in a month. It's in Robertson Air Mail colors, like one Lindburgh might have flown before he flew the pond.

Really nice to see some pictures of warbirds with fans. I'm biased to the F86 as it is ours and really like your photos of it next to the FJ. The jet warbirds seem to lack the attention the WWII birds get. I worked a fair amount and didn't get many photos of our birds. Glad to see you got some good ones.

"jets vs props popularity" discussion - IMHO...

the attention is growing, albeit slowly.

there are more props warbirds than jets (for lots of reasons) - more numbers = more attention to the casual observer.

jets are "newer" and have a shorter history to attract attention in the general public.

the "little" L39's and similar jets are doing a lot to call attention to the jets by the "casual" air show attendee and seeing them in tail chase and formation displays helps call more attention to them.

As more jets fly into airshows and more pilots & owners become more visable in the survivor/reunion circuits you can see the interest is growing. The "jet guys" just need to continue to be the squeaky wheel to get more attention from the air show organizers and the general public.

I always appreciate the depth of the restoration work done on the historical a/c and truly love seeing these restorations fly.

Jenn says "thanks for the compliment!" We are definitely on for another cookout next year - hopefully I'll have a bit more time to talk to everyone a little more in depth. We had fun and it was great meeting you Dan, as well as everyone else.
