Plane crash in Wisconsin

The Chicago Tribune is reporting today that Richard Hansen of Batavia,Ill was the pilot of a plane that crashed into Lower Gresham Lake in Wisconsin. Mr Hansen and the passenger in the plane escaped unhurt. I wonder if that is the same Richard Hansen who did/does own several warbirds. The story does not indicate what type of plane was involved.

I read in the local paper both people walked away. The paper didn't say what type of plane it was. I quess since no one died, the news on the crash has.

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. An airplane piloted by a Batavia man crashed in Vilas County over the weekend, striking power lines before landing in a lake, according to authorities said.

No one was injured in the crash, which took place at Lower Gresham Lake in the Town of Boulder Junction late Saturday, the Vilas County Sheriff's department said.

The pilot was identified as Richard Hansen, 69, of Batavia. The passenger was James Ladwig, 72, of Chicago.

As of late Sunday, the cause of the crash was not known, the department said in a news release. The crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the sheriff's department.

Seems to be some typos there! It says the state is "CO" but then below in the description says it is Wisconsin.
