D-Day Museum gets historic C-47

Greetings all! My first post, but I've been lurking for a while. I figured y'all would like to hear about this one.

The D-Day museum (excuse me, National WWII Museum) is getting a C-47 that participated in Normandy, Holland, the Battle of the Bulge, and Operation Varsity. According to the article I read, they got it on EBay for about $150,000 and put another 50K into it to get it where it is now. She flew into Lakefront airport a few days ago and went on display. Her last flight is scheduled for the 9th of September with reenactors on board; after that, it's off to the museum.

Hi all,

Nice to see that they are gonna preserve and actual combat vet rather than, as so many seem to be headed, letting it go down hill to the point of scrapping the airframe. Thanks for posting the pic's.
