On the subject of REAL aeroplanes ..... I thought you might like to know that the UK's taxiable Lancaster ~ "Just Jane" is about to make the news

...........................................................................................................

TAIL UP TAXI PLANNED!!!!
We are planning to do a fast tail up taxi of Just Jane for the first time in public viewing on Saturday Sept 16th.. The pilot will be Flt Lft Mike Chatterton with engineer Ian Hickling, they will take Just Jane to Take Off speed and perform an aborted take off as performed for the BBC film Night Flight. There are also plans to have the BBMF Lancaster flypast in unison. This may be the only place in the World for you to see two Lancaster and four merlin engines together!! (Caution this is by no means finalised, please ring us on 01790 763207 or keep viewing our website)

The Dambusters in the public forum again so that today's kids can see why they have the life they have today?

Sounds good to me!

Unless the film makers live and breathe the Dambusters, there will be small things that not everyone will be happy with.

Can't wait to see it.

Cheers

It's a good story and one that's worth re-telling. It will likely "introduce" a whole bunch of history to a new generation, and it might even provide the "push" to get Lanc #3 into the air.

But, in my opinion, the CGI will either make or break it. If the CGI airplanes "fly" properly and realistically it'll be great, but if it's just another repeat of the CGI airplanes in just about every CGI airplane movie I've ever seen it'll suck.

I take it Mel Gibson will be playing the role of... Dr Wallis? (Wing Commander Gibson was all of 25 at the time.)

Dan
