That is what I like to hear :D :D There are several pilots at Geneseo that like to play so I'm sure we can get some flying and photos in. I should try and get Kees from the GWFM to fly in formation with Olivier. A Fokker DR.1 FW.149 shot. The Navion and 149 would be a good match and we can fit in a photog or two.

See, now ya done it! Got me dreaming about Geneseo photoflights already  A nice place that is not to far from the field is Letchworth State Park seen here with Roger Hadfield and the Stampe.

Ryan, How far is the flight? It was a few years ago when I did the shoot. Rob, That would be anice place to video.

Cheers,

Eric

If you were to fly straight there, you'd be looking at 7 miles on the dot to the "great bend" area that you shot over. See similar here:

I remember flying VERY close to the trestle with some unnamed pilots from the airshow many years back! Fun at the time, but really stupid.

Ryan,

I bet I know who you are talking about :D Any replacement for the 208 yet? My father has a great shot looking down the wing of Fuddy Duddy while flying over the Park. My mother had just passed away a few months earlier and my father was wondering around Upstate New York with the car when he stoped in at Geneseo. While having a smoke outside the car someone came up to him and said the B-17 is going for a hop and if he was interested he could come along. That really helped pick up his spirits. The flight went up the canyon both ways and went from one wingtip to the other. They then headed for Conesus Lake and did a buzz job before a low and over at Geneseo.

I remember hearing one of Austin's girls, Niaomi I think, talking about how they would load up the B-17 and go for breakfast at other airports. What an aircraft to tool around in.

I'm sure you have lots of great memories of Genie.

Those were the days :D

Hmmmm. I might have to get in on this. :D

If I can find a ride up to NY then I'm definitely game. I understand the Collings Foundation will be taking the Corsair up there, and it's based right here by my house. Maybe I can stowaway.

Oh wow, that's a great shot!!! I remember stories of Dr. Bill shovelling the snow off the top of that shed and sliding off... I knew he had nine lives then!

God, I was still like 7 or 8 when the real good times were going on there... when I became 10 thats when all the fun started going downhill into the commercialism and infighting that eventually led to the split. I stuck with the HAG group because of my ties with Austin and Bill... was the youngest member when it was chartered... number 250 here.

I wish I had been around for those days, but at the same time I am glad I wasn't... if I had been, I'd be doubly upset over what was lost through the political wars that happened.

Rob,

That is about the best one showing the background, I crop my shots pretty tight. I do like this one as well.

It was my one and only shoot over Letchworth and I want to go back. Most of the air-to-air work at Geneseo takes place over Conesus Lake as can be seen in this B-17 shot.

This is a photo of Harland Avezzie over Conesus with Martin Keenan in the back seat.

Man, I sure hope the weather gods cooperate this year as last year we did little flying because of the winds and weather.

Photo Ship

Nothing personal to Bruce and Dr. Bill, But can we find a faster photo ship than a Navion, T-50, or ME-108????

Good point Doug!

Today, with 23-24" and 2750 RPM, we were indicating 140 KIAS with the Focke-Wulf.

In a couple of years, I might come down with a Harvard, but right now the Focke-Wulf is what I'm assigned too.

You could always line me up and rack up a few kills!!
