I lived near Tinker for a while in 1992. As I remember then the B-29 was in a little more harsh condition - so to me it looks well preserved - jsut waiting for someone to come and put it in a museum!

As I recall, was this plane a weathership or a "b" model? That account for the lack of blisters.

This B-29 was one of many B-29s stored at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. From 1955-1985 according to the Registry. Does anyone have photos of the B-29s while stored at Aberdeen Proving Grounds?
