Thanks to everyone here for the contributions. I won't have the opportunity to update the list http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.html#USA_CA until tomorrow (Monday), but feel free to keep posting this good stuff.

Mike

P.S. If you have chipped in here make sure you send me your full name so I can add you to the credits. Either PM or email (mrhenniger @ AerialVisuals.ca) would be good.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Got it - but it's a B-58.

Both look like the same type - I first thought they were B-66s but they've got what look like engines under the tail. Look on Live Local and you can go to the Bird's Eye mode and see them much better.

EDIT! Got 'em - they're the two Bell X-21s (which were modified from B-66s, so at least I was close  ).

If that is the bird across the street from the SR-71, it's an X-15 on a pole.

That really is in the middle of no where isn't it? Is that still on the grounds of Edwards AFB? Chris indicates it is a B-58.

Were these the ex-B-66s/now X-21s that Chris Brame was talking about?
I thought I heard that the NMUSAF had pulled one of these back to the museum for restoration. Was that correct?

No. TBM in outside storage and DC-3s that fly daily to Catalina Island delivering restaurant supplies on south side of airport (on Spring near Redondo).

Ontario Ontario Airport A F-102 was once on display at the airport, but it is no longer there.
I think this is the one that POF had at Chino for 25 years and returned to the USAF.

Aero Trader is a restoration and maintenance company. They have a storage compound in Borrego Springs. +33° 58' 43.49", -117° 38' 28.87" is their B-25 with their hangar just to the south. If you go two hangars west and one hangar south you will be at the MARC hangar with the C-123 parked in front just off of the taxiway.

Trying to find a particular aircraft at Long Beach using Google Earth is like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles. Thanks for all of your help Brandon, but could I bother you to give me the coordinates of the stored TBM even if it is not public accessible? You must be familiar with the area as that is the C-17 production site.

I read a website indicating there was an F-102 on display outside of the terminal. It was moved about 2-3 years ago. I am having trouble finding the website now. I think I am remembering this correctly.

Wow! Thanks for that one. It wasn't any any lists anywhere! I added the new entry.

I had the P-51 covered off by the "Fresno Air Terminal" entry, I just didn't have the designation P-51 in the list. It is now.

I had the Alameda airframes covered. Look for "Encinal High School" and "USN NAS - Alameda" in my list.

As for Bakersfield, the F-84 was once there, but was taken back by the NMUSAF. HOWEVER, there is something interesting at... 35 25 43.77 N 119 02 36.50 W ...What is that? It kind of looks like an A-6 or F9F.

Thanks again Brandon. I added you to the credits.

I used to fly in and out of Ontario all the time. Never saw it!

TBM at Long Beach is located here (although not pictured):

http://local.live.com/?v=2&sp=Point.pn1 ... LGB%2529__

I've forgotten whose it is, but it was sold about 9 months ago, moved to Long Beach, and has been sitting ever since. It is blue with a yellow cowl band.

-> Update: It is this one; http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... php?t=6485

P.S. There is also a T-6 in the aerial photo parked on the ramp near the approach end of 07R.

Thanks Brandon. I have added your Long Beach info, and a note to my Ontario F-102 entry. I'll try to find that website I was talking about at lunch today.

As for the California list it has been updated...
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.html#USA_CA
...and still has some gaps. If you live in or near the followinging towns you may be able to help me fill in some of the gaps (see the list for more details)...
Acton
Bakersfield
Barstow
Boron
El Cajon
City of Lemoore (not NAS Lemoore)
Los Gatos
NAS Miramar
Mission Hills
Ridgecrest (China Lake)
Mojave
City of Sacramento
County of Sacramento
Santa Fe
Santa Maria
Santa Rose
Sebastopol
Van Nuys
Victorville

This list may appear to you to be long, but for each location listed there are at least two others confirmed aviation sites listed on the locator. Thanks to all that have pitched in.

Mike

Apparently Norton AFB is located at Long Beach. Apparently there is/was a T-39 and F-105 displayed there. I don't see them with Google Earth. Anyone know more?
